Notre Dame De Grace (N.D.G.)
Just west of Westmount and Downtown, N.D.G. is a multi cultural community with beautiful tree lined streets, sidewalk cafes, boutiques and a variety of housing.
The Monkland Village area offers charming older style executive homes with oak woodwork, fireplaces and leaded glass. Further west are smaller newer homes (1950s) home with larger gardens. There are many private and public schools in French and English, as well as Concordia University (Loyola Campus). There are two subway stations and excellent bus service in the area.
Montreal West
Today in this quaint "Old English" community located just west of N.D.G. you will be struck by how family oriented this neighbourhood is, offering excellent daycares, day camps, local arena and pool. The area is characterized by Victorian era executive cottages, many with finished attics.
Westminster avenue offers a variety of small shops and restaurants. While the commuter train station takes you downtown in 12 minutes as well as connects with the Metro system.
Westmount
Westmount is a residential enclave within walking distance of the downtown core of the city yet it retains an air of tranquility. The neighborhood lies over one and a half square miles on the western slopes of Mount Royal. Westmount's summit is dotted with mansions and mini-mansions, it's mid-level boasts of executive style detached and semi-detached homes, and the city's flat tier is home to stately grey-stones, quaint townhouses, Victorian "gingerbread" cottages and a variety of condos. While the Greene Avenue area and elsewhere provide many excellent shopping, dining and entertainment opportunities.
